Description

Name: Joanna Goudeau-Mayer
Age: 14
Birthday: May 24th
Height: 161 cms – 5’35”
Weight: 55 kg - 121 lbs.
Race: Demigod
Sex: Female
God-parent: Hades
Mortal Parent(s): Amelia Goudeau and David Mayer
Current living place outside CHB: New York

Powers:
:bulletblack: UNDER PRESSURE
Jo is able to summon chunks of obsidian from the ground.

Level 1: She can summon spikes about 4 feet tall.

Level 2: The obsidian rock can encase a subject the size of a grown man.

Level 3: Jo can apply pressure to the obsidian prison. The captor inside will feel uncomfortable and breathing will start to be difficult as the pressure heats up the air.

Level 4: The pressure builds up, rendering the captured victim immobile and unable to move inside. The obsidian can encase something about the size of a van.

Level 5: The rocks can expand to about 6 meters/20 feet maximum in height and are able to encase large monsters. The pressure is now able to reach its maximum point, building up to such a strong point the captive is crushed.

Weapon
:bulletred: Mist form: Upper arm cuff
:bulletred: Non-Mist form: Shamshir Sword - Celestial bronze sword coated in black

Personality:
Jo is used to people avoiding her. Her method of dealing with people is simple: if they don’t invest time in her, she won’t invest time in them either. The opposite is equally true. If someone takes the time to stop and talk to her, she will respond. If she feels like you are easy to talk to and feel comfortable, she’ll be more active in seeking you out and getting to know you. If you ignore her, she'll ignore you right back.

This doesn’t mean, however, that she’s a pushover. When treated wrongly, or seeing someone she likes treated wrongly, she will stand up for herself or them. When she finds herself in a tight group of friends or trustworthy people, she’ll be more talkative than when she’s meeting new people. She can sometimes come off as a bit sarcastic or dry, but she’s a loyal friend to have. She’s a good listener and trustworthy.

She currently does not particularly enjoy the label of a ‘Big Three’ kid and what this entails. It makes her rather self-conscious and as though people suddenly expect a lot out of her and she doesn't really get why. She feels rather uncomfortable with the idea that people might feel afraid of her because of who her father is.

Deadly Flaw:
Anxiousness
The whole idea of having strong powers makes Jo hesitant to attack, worried she might accidentally hurt someone.

Background:
Joanna’s mother, Amelia, graduated successfully with a degree in economics and accounting. She started off as an accountant at a bank in New York and rapidly worked her way up. With her accomplishments, Amelia attracted the interest of Hades himself, who was fascinated by her ambition and her deft skill in handling the modern age’s riches. During his time with her, he worked with Amelia, teaching her how to respect her gut feelings for handling finances and investments. Under his tutelage, Amelia was soon the company's CFO.

When Amelia had Joanna, Hades left. Joanna loved her new daughter, but raising her and keeping her job were causing her a lot of stress until Amelia's mother helped take over some of the burden. Amelia also fell in love with and married David when Jo was three and thereafter her daughter was left mostly in the care of Maria and David and a happy childhood. Though she didn't see much of her mother, Jo looked up to her, admiring her ability to be successful and her hard-working nature. Jo valued her mother's opinion very much, though she never admitted it out loud. She bonded well with her step-dad, and the two often went on walks and short trips. Sometimes Jo pointed out weird creatures to David, creatures that looked like weird-shaped animals or people. David thought she had a wonderful imagination.

Things were less easy for her at school. For some reason, people felt uncomfortable around her, like she radiated some kind of aura that made people avoid her. She didn’t understand why this was and developed a relatively quiet nature. She only showed interest in people who were interested in her, avoiding those who avoided her. She did manage to make a few friends, those who were attracted by this aura, rather than repelled.

At the age of 12, she and David had a run in with a flock of Stymphalian birds in Central Park. She and her step-dad tried to get away, which they only managed when a boy jumped to their aid, wearing a big poofy hat and wielding a club. David managed to escape with Joanna as the stranger took care of the birds, not knowing what happened to the strange boy with the club. Once home, he relayed this strange evenr to Amelia, which led to the woman explaining who Jo’s father was, who up until that point had been defined as a ‘past foreign business partner.’

Ever since that event, Amelia took her daughter with her to the office more frequently, as to provide her with a shelter where everything smelled more ‘human’ as she explained it to her daughter. This suited Jo just fine, who loved watching what her mother did. Two years later, when she and her mother walked home, that same boy with the hat from the bird incident approached them, happily explaining how he “had finally found her after a slight detour from Dallas to Oklahoma.” The boy introduced himself as Ficus the satyr, and offered to walk them home to explain why he’d been tailing Joanna.

When the satyr had told them his purpose, Joanna decided to go with him to camp. Her family had some reservations about the matter, but eventually agreed, feeling this was the safer option.

Other Info:
- Was a keen rock collector as a child.
- She’s unsure how to feel about having the King of the Underworld for a father.
- Her favourite food is shrimp.
